Training equipment upgrades

We’ve made some upgrades to our home training equipment.

I don’t carry lots of weight in my backpack but I can bring plenty of other tools to a park or your living room to make sure you have a great workout.

We want to keep your expectations in line with the reality of the product we provide, so these are photos of our equipment.

Little extra freedom

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Evacuation Day!

My personal cell phone broke yesterday.  Every week or so I like to take a cell phone “holiday” and leave it somewhere that I don’t habitually leave it.  Those cell-free days are nice, but they are voluntary.  The phone breaking was not voluntary, but the feeling of no phone tied to my hip is liberating.  I think I’ll enjoy my extended cell phone holiday after the mixed emotions settle down!

Initial observations

I wanted to take a few days just wearing the devices around to see how they feel day-to-day.  They each have their quirks.  The Mio and Fitbit are both daily activity trackers, the Soleus is not.  I’m not going into details yet, but I found it interesting that the Fitbit tells me I take about twice as many steps in a day as the Mio.  It seems to have a much more sensitive step counter.  I adjusted the settings for different combinations (“incorrect”) dominant-side and non-dominant-side use but, again, the Fitbit was more generous in counting.
I’m looking forward to examining the results more closely.  If anyone has specific questions about the devices I’ll be happy to try to answer.
